Lowash`s Backrooms
A downloadable Lowash`s Backrooms for Windows
Yet another entry into the ever-growing Backrooms universe — this one drawing its atmosphere and visual language directly from the aesthetic of the Backrooms film. Endless, jaundiced hallways. Flickering fluorescent lights. The unsettling feeling that something has been rearranged just slightly wrong.
Right now, Lowash's Backrooms is an early prototype, built primarily to experiment with and test procedural level generation. Every playthrough reshuffles the space: furniture, office equipment, and other interior objects can spawn in bizarre locations and orientations, turning familiar liminal-space clutter into something genuinely disorienting. There's no fixed layout waiting for you — just an ever-shifting maze that never lets you get too comfortable.
You're equipped with a handheld camera, which lets you inspect distant objects up close or check its live feed on the TVs scattered throughout the level — a small extra layer of surveillance in a place that already feels like it's watching you back.

About the project
This game was made purely for fun over the summer as a personal experiment. It's my first real attempt at making a game, and I leaned on AI tools throughout development to help me learn the ropes. Don't expect a finished experience, clear objectives, or polished gameplay loops — this is a sandbox for testing ideas, first and foremost the procedural generation system. Bugs, weirdness, and rough edges are very much expected!
Feedback, bug reports, and suggestions are always welcome — this project will keep evolving as I keep learning.
